Chase County girls finish in tie for 15th place in Omaha

    The Chase County Girls had three girls medal in solo events and two of the relays brought home some hardware.
    Riley Rusher qualified for the 100 meter finals, finishing seventh in the prelims with a time of 12.59. Ella Colson finished 13th in the prelims, running 12.78. That time wasn’t fast enough to get into the finals. Rusher ran 12.74 in the finals to finish eighth.
    Peyton Owens missed out on the finals in the 100m hurdles, placing 13th in the prelims with a personal best time of 15.85.
    Chase County had two girls in the 200 meter dash. R. Rusher and Colson both were eliminated in the prelims, finishing 16th and 18th respectively.
    Freshman Emily Randall finished 22nd in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:02.72. In the 800 meter run, despite Randall and Miranda Spady both running personal bests, both came up short of making the medals, finishing 12th and 15th respectively.
    Sophomore Karlie Anderson cleared 4’ 11” to place 13th in the high jump.
    In the pole vault, freshman Avery Beemer finished in fourth place with a vault of 10’ 6”.
    Junior Peyton Owens jumped 35’ 4” to place eighth in the triple jump.
    Colson, R. Rusher, Adelle Eskew and Hayley Rusher finished sixth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 50.44.
    In the 4x400 relay, Owens, Lizbet Mireles, E. Randall and R. Rusher took fifth place with a time of 4:07.32.
    The 4x800 relay finished in 10th place. Runners in this race were Spady, Landree McNair, Elizabeth Hanna and Ashlyn Heermann.
