S.C.O.R.E. 2024 unveils its grand finale—Groovy Science

In what marks the 20th and final installment, S.C.O.R.E. 2024 is set to host its much-anticipated camp from June 10-14, 2024, at Chase County Schools. Titled “Groovy Science,” the camp promises a blend of timeless scientific inquiry and exciting new sessions.
Throughout its history, S.C.O.R.E. has been a platform shining a spotlight on homegrown scientists, and this year is no exception. We’re thrilled to announce that Taylor Yaw from the Henry Doorly Zoo will join the presenters, sharing his wealth of experience with animals on Wednesday, June 10.
Designed to foster educational programs and activities that stimulate young minds, S.C.O.R.E. offers hands-on experiences in various scientific realms. Campers will engage in investigations covering weather, survival skills, life, earth, chemistry, physical, environmental, and health sciences.
For two days, campers will delve into small sessions featuring hands-on activities and experiments at Champion Lake or Swinging Bridge, led by both local and traveling instructors exploring all sciences.
Wednesday at Chase County Schools will feature large shows, including presentations by Dr. Kaboom, The Exploration Place, and Wildlife Encounters. Co-directors Kim Spady and Charlesa Kline are dedicated to ensuring that this final edition of S.C.O.R.E. creates lasting memories.
Open to students who have completed 1st-6th grades, registration details will be announced in April 2024. Gift certificates can be purchased online at the City of Imperial’s website (www.imperial-ne.com/shop) or by contacting Charlesa Kline.
S.C.O.R.E. is made possible through grants, generous sponsors, in-kind donations, and tuition. Interested individuals can contribute by contacting a Chase County Schools Education Foundation Board Member.
