Lady Bronco volleyball has hectic schedule this week

    The volleyball team traveled to Paxton for a four team tournament Sept. 19 and split the night winning one and losing one.
    The Broncos won over Potter-Dix (9-8) in the first match with scores of 25-15 and 25-19.
    That paired them with the host team Paxton Tigers (12-3). The Broncos struggled against the Tigers going down in two sets, 16-25 and 19-25. This brought the Lady Broncos record to 6-8.
    The Broncos then traveled to the Bertrand Invite on Saturday Sept. 23. The Lady Broncos  had four matches that day finishing 1-3 for the tournament. All four game where evenly matched in terms of skill and the scores reflected that.
    The Broncos played point for point with the host Bertrand Vikings (11-9). Wauneta-Palisade took the first of three very close sets with a score of 25-22.
    The Vikings came back to win the next two sets 20-25 and 21-25.
    In the game against the Pleasanton Bulldogs (12-4) the Broncos hung with the Bulldogs but couldn’t find the combination to get the win. The Broncos lost in two sets, 21-25 and 20-25.
    The match against Kenesaw  (10-9) went three sets and could have gone either way. The Blue Devils took the first set pretty easily 17-25 but the Broncos dug in and fought to the end.
    In the second set after being tied at 25 the Broncos found a way to score the next two points and win the second set.
    The third set was close and both teams got to 23. This time it was Kenesaw who scored two in a row to seal the set and the match 23-25.
    The final game was against the Loomis Wolves (10-9).Wauneta got off to a good start winning the first set 25-19. The Broncos nearly closed it out in the second set but fell 23-25 causing a third set to be played.
    The Broncos weren’t going home without a win and took it to the Wolves winning the set 25-18 and sealing the match victory bringing the Lady Broncos record to (7-11).
Next action;
    The Broncos hosted DCS on Tuesday Sept. 26. Details will be in next weeks addition.
    On Thursday Sept. 28 the Lady Broncos traveled to Wallace  for a 3 p.m. MT. match.
    On Tuesday Oct. 3 the Broncos will host a triangular with Perkins County and Garden County starting at 4 p.m. MT. On Friday Oct. 6 Arthur County will come to town for a Homecoming game that will start at 3 p.m. MT.
