Chase County Longhorns run over Buffaloes of Gibbon

The Chase County football team had everything working Friday night as they traveled to meet the (1-2) Gibbon Buffaloes.
Gibbon received the opening kick and picked up one first down before the Longhorn defense shut the drive down.
Chase County took over and ran just six plays before Thomas Reeves ran it in from three yards out for the first of many touchdowns on the night. James McArthur added the extra point and the Longhorns led 7-0 with 4:22 left in the first quarter.
On Gibbons next possession, McArthur intercepted a Gibbon pass and returned it to the 28 yard line of Gibbon. Gibbon stopped the Horns on first down and a penalty back the Horns up five yards to the 33 yard line.
On second down and 15, Reeves took the hand-off around the left end and went 33 yards for the touch down. McArthur’s kick was no good leaving the horns with a 13-0 lead with 2:49 left in the first period.
The defense shut down Gibbon and forced a punt. Good pressure from the defensive front forced a shank punt that went out of bounds at the Gibbon 30.
On the first play of the second quarter Cooper Dillan took it in from four yards out. Reeves ran in for the two point conversion making it a 21-0 lead.
The Longhorns shut down Gibbon again but after a 51 yard punt found themselves at their own 21 yard line. After picking up a couple first downs, Malachi Christensen called his own number up the middle for a 47 yard touchdown run. McArthur’s kick was good making the lead 28-0.
The Horns added one more score before half when Luis Co took an end around to the house from four yards out. The extra point attempt failed making it 34-0 at the half.
In the first drive of the second half, Chase County got the ball and wasted no time scoring when Reeves took a pitch through the left side of the line and went 57 yards to pay dirt. The kick was good and it was 41-0 with less than two minutes gone in the second half.
On Gibbons next possession Tucker Mollendor took a pic six back 41 yards for the score. The point after was good taking it to 48-0.
McArthur scored the next touchdown running it in from five yards out and kicking the extra point.
The second string saw a lot of playing time in the second half and added another score  when Tuck Hubbard ran it in from nine yards out. The extra point was good bringing the score to 62-0 for the final scoring of the game.
