Just in time for Memorial Day, new bricks were added to the Chase County Veterans Memorial Tuesday. Above, Lyman Linger places a brick for BIll Jeffries just above a new brick for Dale Bischoff. A brick for Knotty Knotwell was next in line. Besides the 15 newly placed bricks, four more bricks have been paid for, but VFW Post Commander Bud Statz said the committee would like to get to 10 before placing the order.

Programs will remember those who served

It will be a busy day Monday at cemeteries in the area in an effort to acknowledge Memorial Day and those who gave their lives for this country.
In Imperial, Mt. Hope Cemetery will be the site for the 10:30 a.m. ceremony Monday organized by the Imperial VFW Post 4688 and its auxiliary.
