Sims helping women through new health collective

Four ladies from across the United States with different health stories have come together with one mission in mind—to help other women have better health. One of these women is Breanne Sims of Grant.
Co-owner of the business Flexible Fasting with her husband Sam, Breanne was in Florida attending a conference put on by her business coach, when she met three other like minded women and an alliance was formed.
Calling their group the Christian Women’s Health Collective, the four bring expertise from the areas of kidney disease, Alzheimer’s, brain and mental health, weight loss, spiritual connectedness, inflammation reduction, clean eating and healthy lifestyle hacks.
“We each have a different story, different training, and different passions that we bring into the collective” Sims said. “We know that God brought us together for a purpose, and we are so excited to be serving the women He brings alongside us.”
Besides Sims, the other three ladies are Julie Spears of Florida, Leigh Ann Woznica of Alaska, and Sheri Johnson also of Florida.
Sims, an RN, has always been passionate about health, prayer, and helping people.
Her deeper dive into health and nutrition started with helping to keep her kids, herself and Sam healthy.
“I started eliminating toxins in our home and our food,” Sims said. “And I started exercising consistently for the first time ever. We were finally able to see our health improve.”
However, as she and Sam became older, they noticed more and more weight creeping on and their health declining.
After trying all of the traditional ways of losing weight with no results, the two were nearly resigned to an unhealthy future, she said.
The turning point for Breanne was when her dad got cancer.
“Once the medical community could no longer offer him any help, my mom started looking into alternative treatments and found fasting,” Sims said. “She shared some info with me and I started looking into it. What I found was astonishing.”
Sims started fasting and found immediate relief. Then her husband Sam began fasting with her, and they were finally losing the weight.
“And we’ve never looked back,” she said.
Flexible Fasting
Fasting has become an integral part of Sam and Breanne’s lives, with them even creating a whole business around it.
Through their Flexible Fasting business, located in Grant, they serve as coaches and mentors to bring fasting to others, she said.
“God saved our lives with fasting,” she said. “And we want to help others.”
Combining Forces
Through the Christian Women’s Health Coalition, Sims brings her fasting journey and knowledge alongside the other women who bring their stories.
The group has created a website where they provide helpful information, resources and also a podcast the women create together.
The website attests to being a “safe space for Fellowship, Faith, Hope, and Encouragement,” and “a place to learn better health through nutrition, creating a healthy mind-set and holistic lifestyle changes,” according to the website.
Sherri Johnson
Johnson’s health story began when she was searching for a way to help her son get off of ADHD medication.
The CWHC allows Johnson a way to teach others what she has learned on her journey.
“The Christian Women’s Health Collective to me is a place where women can learn how to prioritize themselves because women often take care of everyone well but themselves,” she said.
Johnson stated that the past few years with the pandemic have been very tough on everyone, but especially women.
“Women are used to being in community and they may have felt isolated,” she said. “So, the CWHC is a place where they can be themselves and find fellowship, faith, hope encouragement and get guidance on nutrition for their unique health and healing journey from four Wellness Warriors. I am so excited to see how God uses our individual gifts to help women not just survive but thrive so they in turn can use the gifts God gave them, to do what He brought them here to do”
Leigh Ann Woznica
For Leigh Ann Woznica, the creation of the collective was a natural after meeting her three partners.
“After meeting these ladies and learning more about them, it was clear to me that God brought them into my life for a purpose,” Woznica said. “We began our collaboration thinking we would just do a wellness webinar, and learned that we wanted to focus on so much more. I’m so excited to be a part of this collective with these women and the journey we are embarking on.”
Julie Spears
For Spears, her passion to help women who are grieving comes from the tragic loss of her 16-year-old son.
“Grief is overwhelming when looking through the world views. With grief coaching, it allows a new mindset framework to focus on the individual,” she said. “With the Christian Women’s Health Collective, women have a group who are praying for them and working on their behalf to work through their grief so they can allow themselves to figure out what is right for them.”
Besides helping with grief, Spears is also passionate about kidney health, and shares her knowledge from serving in a hospital setting.
