WP competes at RPAC One-Act

The Wauneta-Palisade One Act Play production of “Ella Cinder’s Blues” competed at Saturday’s RPAC West Division performances at Southwest High School.
The top four teams announced at the end of the day were, first Maywood, “Asylum”; second Wallace, “This is your Brain on Social Media”; third Paxton, “West of the Pecos”; and fourth, Hayes Center, “The Twilight Cone.”
Also participating were Hitchcock County and Southwest.
Wallace’s Kendall McClintock was named Best Actress. Paxton’s John Fricke was Best Actor.
WP’s production was led by Tayler May.
Cast members include Chloe Stehno, Izzy Stehno, Kiley Anderson, Mandy Sandoval, Grayden Sutherland, Kyle Jutten, Abi Greaves, Hailea Baker, Justin Warembourg, Cheyenne Parrish, GraCee Goings, Peyton Vrbas, Peyton Cox, AJ McCrumb, Alley Fisher, Chloey Manley, Konnor Shifflet, Kalli Hoskovec, Camden DeWester and Ryleigh McCrumb.
Crew members are Sophia Alfayo and Michael Alfayo, lights; Alexa Aguilar, hair/makeup; and Felix Alfayo and Clayton Fanning, set.
Next up for the production will be districts Nov. 28 in Holdrege. The D1-5 district includes Overton, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, Hitchcock County, Brady, Stapleton, Loomis, Bertrand and WP.
State Play Production Championships for Class D2 will be Dec. 7.
The five teams of the East Division also held its competition on Saturday. Southern Valley, “Chateau,” placed first; Alma, “Cheating Death,” was second; Cambridge, “Are We Scared Yet,” placed third; Maxwell, “Infamous,” came in at fourth; and Bertrand, “Shark,” was fifth.
Kamden Bose of Southern Valley was the Best Actor and Lissele Lucas of Maxwell was the Best Actress.
