Broncos lose subdistrict match

    The Wauneta-Palisade volleyball team lost to Paxton Monday, ending their season with a 10-18 record.
    Wallace and Paxton played Tuesday night for the fifth time this season. Wallace swept the Tigers Tuesday night to take their place in the Saturday’s district finals..
    Monday was the third time this season the Broncos have lost to Paxton (22-6), including Oct. 17 in the RPAC tournament.
    WP lost the match 20-25, 25-21, 21-25, 21-25.
Beat Brady in five
    The Broncos’ final regular season game was a home contest against Brady last Friday.
    WP fell behind early and wasn’t able to catch up in the 18-25 first set loss.
    The Broncos out scored Brady 10-1 down the stretch of the second set and took a 25-15 win.
    The third set swung back to the Eagles’ favor. WP gave up six-straight points and wasn’t able to dig itself out of the hole. The Broncos lost the set 20-25.     The Broncos snatched the momentum back in the fourth set. WP had a strong first six rotations to take a 19-10 win. The teams traded points until Wauneta-Palisade took the 25-16 win.
    WP won the serve in the fifth set and immediately took the lead. The Broncos maintained a three or four-point lead down the stretch of the 15-10 win.
    Cali Cox, GraCee Goings and Peyton Cox each had at least 15 kills.
    Wauneta-Palisade’s season ends with a 10-17 record.
