Fair’s photo contest now open for entries

    Four categories have been set for this year’s Chase County Fair and Expo Open Photo Contest.
    The divisions include Cows Around, Fun In The Sun, New Beginnings and Technology.
    “It should be a fun year of photos and I can’t wait to see what will be entered,” said contest chairman Samie Johnson.
    Deadline for entries is Aug. 5 by 5 p.m.
    Each category will have first, second and third place winners, and all will receive cash prize money, Johnson said.
    There will also be a Best Of Show cash prize winner. An honorable mention photo will be picked in all four categories, as well.
    Cash prizes will be determined by how many photos are entered, Johnson said.
    There is a $20 fee for each entry, which covers making a photo print for display at the fair and processing.
    Only digital photos can be entered at: openphotocontest@gmail.com. Johnson will email  an invoice to be paid online. No entries will be judged if entry fees are not paid.
    Participants must be 16 years or older to enter, and there are no limits on entries. All photos should be suitable for family viewing, she said.
    Entries constitute permission for the Chase County Fair to use in publications and online, Johnson said. All entries will be displayed in the exhibit building during the fair.
