Aurora Cooperative donating auction funds to TeamMates

In February, Aurora Cooperative held its annual ACE Summit Meeting, hosting a silent auction with proceeds benefiting the TeamMates organization.
Through the Feb. 15 silent auction, a record-breaking amount of $20,065.11 was raised, and with an additional $5,000 contribution from Aurora Cooperative itself, the final donation amount totaled $25,065.11.
These funds will be donated directly to TeamMates and distributed to chapters to be utilized for scholarships, programs, and workshops.
There is a TeamMates chapter at Chase County Schools.
Each year the company’s silent auction committee is tasked with choosing an organization to support within Aurora Cooperative’s trade area.
In 2020, the silent auction raised $19,565 which went to support 40 rural fire departments across Nebraska.
This year the committee selected the TeamMate Mentoring Program as the recipient of the silent auction proceeds.
“Their commitment to youth is incredible, and the several chapters they have in middle and high schools are in many communities Aurora Cooperative serves,” said Brand Marketing Manager Tessa Burgener.
Founded by former Husker football coach Tom Osborne, TeamMates is a youth mentoring program, striving to inspire youths to reach their full potential.
TeamMates currently serves over 170 school districts across Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota and Wyoming, offering school-based mentoring during the academic year and providing teamwork opportunities throughout the year.
