Imperial Lions note 90th year; banquet, program next month

The Imperial Lions Club marked its 90th year in December, and will celebrate the milestone with a banquet and program in March.
A charter anniversary banquet will be held Thursday, March 17, at Enders Lake Golf Course using the theme, “Lucky to be a Lion.”
The public is invited to the 6:30 p.m. dinner and program, preceded by social hour starting at 5:30 p.m.
Guest speaker at the program will be Larry Seger of Wallace, currently the state chairman for the Lions Clubs International Foundation.
He’s also a past Lions District Governor, Council Chairman and currently serves as secretary of the Wallace Lions Club. He’s been active in numerous Lions state projects.
Imperial Lions President Randy Hayes said the club has a lot of history in its 90 years of community service. Much of its history will be on display and highlighted at the March 17 event.
Entertainment will be provided by the 9th St. Singers from Chase County Schools.
The club was chartered on Dec. 10, 1931 with 26 original members. Glen Brewer was the club’s first president.
Anyone interested in attending the banquet can RSVP with Lions committee member Dennis Batterman at 308-882-5583 (home) or 308-883-0185 (cell).
