Donation site in Madrid supports trucker’s convoy

Nebraskans Against Government Overreach, Freedom Rally USA and Nebraskans for Health Freedom have organized The Nebraska People’s Convoy on March 1.
A trucker’s convoy to protest vaccine mandates will start from two locations in western Nebraska—Alliance and Sidney—and travel to the state capitol in Lincoln.
The aim is to peacefully bring public awareness to the damaging effects of the mandates under the National Emergency Act for Coronavirus, said organizers for the event, “and to restore our constitution.”
Truckers can register to join the convoy by going to nago.group/tpc-nebraska-registra tion/, said Melissa Sauder of Grant, an area volunteer for the western part of the state.
The are a number of locations where an extensive list of suggested donation items can be dropped off to help the cause.
The closest drop-off in this area is Regier Equipment at 33685 Hwy 23 in Madrid.
“I will be heading to Lincoln on Sunday, so any donations coming to Regier Equipment need to be dropped off by Saturday,” Sauder said.
All donations in the state will go first to any Nebraskan joining the convoy, and anything left will go to drop sites for the rest of the convoy to use, she added.
Donations to the Peoples Convoy Nebraska are being collected statewide and will be taken to Lincoln to send with the Nebraska truckers that join the national convoys to Washington D.C. to protest the federal mandates.
A “Halfway Point” main event rally will take place in Kearney, March 1, from 12 to 1 p.m. CT  at the Archway at 3060 E 1st St.
It is requested that truckers bring their signs and rally along I-80.
Sauder said other surrounding communities will be having rallies earlier in the day, as well.
The convoy will be planning to arrive at the state capitol in Lincoln at 5 p.m. CT for the rally there before joining the People’s Convoy in Kansas to Washington, D.C.
People’s Convoy to D.C.
There are multiple starting dates and points for the national convoy, said NAGO founder Allie French.
“Not every effort is connected with the People’s Convoy directly, but Nebraska is,” she said.
Some groups are starting on the Feb. 23 from California, and others are starting next week, said French.
The convoy is planning on at least 11 days of travel from one coast to the other.
“There are Nebraskans wanting to join—some from the panhandle, some from northeast Nebraska and other areas,” she said.
Local communities are encouraged to host their own local events even if they don’t plan to join the trip to D.C.
“Many states are having rallies at their state capitols to show support for these efforts, and show our own state officials that we want an end to the mandates and violations of our rights,” French said.
Any truckers wanting to join can leave the capitol in Lincoln on March 1 and head south on I-29 to Kansas City and then east on I-70 to Indianapolis, Indiana, she added.
