New pastor at Crossroads Wesleyan Church is retired military

Crossroads Wesleyan Church launched 2022 with a new pastor.
Brian Boisselle and family moved from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Imperial Dec. 31 with Pastor Boisselle manning the pulpit on Jan. 2 as his first senior pastor position.
Master Sergeant Boisselle recently retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years working in explosive ordnance disposal.
“My job in the military taught me a lot about myself, and taught me a lot about what I am capable of doing,” he said.
While still in the USAF, Pastor Boisselle spent much of his free time studying and pursuing his calling to God, so when it was time for retirement, he also received his Masters of Divinity from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Pastor Boisselle is currently enrolled at Liberty University working toward a Ph.D in Bible Exposition, he said.
Journey toward ministry
Pastor Boisselle accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 2000.
“I felt called to ministry right away after being saved, but I knew I had a lot of preparation before I would be ready,” he said.
He married his wife, Amber, in 2001, and together their dream was of going into ministry together.
Even then, they both knew they weren’t qualified yet.
“We needed to mature as Christians,” Pastor Boisselle said.
Around six or seven years ago, the Boisselles began actively pursuing what their role in ministry would be.
“It was a humbling and maturing process,” said Amber.
“He received his Masters of Divinity around the same time as he retired from the Air Force, so it kind of resolved itself as to our next step,” she added.
The Boisselles began their search for a church home position the usual way—sending out resumes.
“God said to go visit Imperial so we decided to drive down and have a look around. Even while driving here, we felt like we were supposed to come,” said Pastor Boisselle.
He said they sat down at a table at M & M’s Natural JAZ and watched people and listened to them talk.
“It just felt right,” he said.
A new journey
The Boisselles both said their plan is to build solid relationships with people.
“I want to get to know the people and see what they may need spiritually, emotionally and what area of ministry they may be called to,” said Pastor Boisselle.
They have hit the ground running getting busy going through church offices and classrooms, cleaning and organizing so as to make better use of the spaces, they said.
Amber’s goal is to put focus on women, providing more fellowship opportunities and give women more options to be ministered to.
“I love getting together and having coffee with other women,” she smiled.
She said she also likes  doing crafts and quilting, where as Pastor Boisselle likes reading, watching football and baseball and destressing by playing golf.
The couple likes spending special time together going for drives and finding ways to help people, she added.
The couple has nine children, so family time is high on the list of importance.
The two oldest boys stayed behind in Cheyenne.
Jacob, age 19, is attending college, and Samuel, age 18, has a full-time job there.
The other children are Josiah, 16; Nathan, 14; David, 12; Elijah, 10; Zachariah, 7; Emmeline, 4; and Clara, 2.
Amber has always home-schooled their children and plans to continue doing so, she said.
Pastor Boisselle said he is looking forward to contacting people in the church and getting acquainted.
“I  want this church to be a safe place to come,” he added.
