Bryner fourth at invite for Broncos

    Four wrestlers took to the mat for Wauneta-Palisade Friday at the Southern Valley Invite.
    Sophomore Conner Bryner led the way for the Broncos with a fourth place finish in the 170 lb. weight class.
    Bryner was one of 19 wrestlers at the weight who worked their way through eight pools then the bracket.
    Bryner won his two pool matches and first bracket match, but lost to Alma’s Alek Molzahn in the quarter finals then Seth Erickson of York in the third place match.
    Justin Warembourg went 2-3 at the meet. Warembourg lost both his pool matches, but bounced back to win two of three matches in the consolation bracket.
    Cole Chism went 0-5 at 106 pounds and Trey McCrumb was 0-4 at 170 pounds.
Up next
    The Broncos will head to Sutherland Saturday for the Sailors’ Invite then have a break until the Garden County Invite Jan. 8.
