Incident in Wauneta 3 years ago results in trio of felony charges

A three-year-old incident in Wauneta has resulted in three felony charges against an Enders man.
Appearing in Chase County Court Oct. 27 after his Sept. 15 arrest, Troy M. Hoskovec, 41, was advised of the charges against him by Judge Edward Steenburg. He is charged with terroristic threats, a Class IIIA felony; use of a deadly weapon, a firearm, a Class IC felony; and 2nd degree assault, a Class IIA felony.
A September 2018 incident in Wauneta led to the charges filed Sept. 10 this year and Hoskovec’s arrest five days later. According to the arrest warrant, Hoskovec allegedly rammed the rear of Bodeen Hardy’s vehicle, then pointed a shotgun at his head.
County Attorney Arlan Wine said this has been a different case.
“It didn’t develop normally. It took a long time to get all of the evidence,” he said last week.
Wine said testimony during a District Court trial in Lincoln County in May this year, in a child custody case, Hoskovec testified about the incident with Hardy in 2018.
“That was pretty important to us filing this case,” Wine said.
At last week’s hearing, Hoskovec’s bond was also reduced from $50,000 to $25,000, and Hoskovec was refunded $2,500 from the original $5,000 (10%) he paid when he bonded out.
Hoskovec will appear at a preliminary hearing Nov. 10. He is being represented by appointed counsel Leslie Nordhausen.
