Longtime business owners, staff to head up fair parade

Grand Marshals for this year’s fair parade will be the McNair Agency and family.
The fair parade committee took a vote and chose the McNairs because of their long-standing name in the community, said Chris Lee.
“Over the years, the McNair family and Agency have volunteered their time to the great people in the town,” Lee said.
“They always step up when things need done, and they deserve recognition for all they have given,” he added.
Bill and Jean McNair started the business in May 1959.
The agency moved forward as a family business with Pat and the late Linda McNair, who raised four sons—Jason, Ben, Alex and Sam.
McNair Agency is still a family run business with Pat, Alex and Sam as the active owners with Alex’s wife, Kristi, working part-time at the agency.
Alex and Kristi have four daughters—Landree, Mallie Bryn and Taylin.
Sam and wife, Abby, have four daughters, as well—Ali, Ava, Aria and Anna.
The business handles “anything insurance—personal, farm or commercial,” said Sam McNair. They are also available to help with estate planning and investments.
Additional staff at the agency are Sharon Clark and Marlea Thompson, who both have been employed by the family for 40 years.
The newest staff member is Kaley Hauxwell who has been there two years.
When asked how he felt about the McNair Agency and family being chosen as Grand Marshals, Pat thought for a few moments and said, “It’s simple—humble.”
A theme for the parade has not yet been finalized.
