Wauneta theatre reopening June 6

After more than a year, the Chateau Theatre in Wauneta will reopen early in June.
At this time, the theatre will provide only a Sunday matinee at 1:30 p.m., starting June 6, said Michelle Harchelroad, Wauneta theatre board member.
The theatre board has confirmed shows for the first two weekends after working with their booking agent, she said.
On Sunday, June 6, the theatre will show “The Croods—A New Age,” an animated PG film about a prehistoric family—the Croods—who are challenged by a rival family, the Bettermans, who claim to be better and more evolved.
On Sunday, June 13, “I Still Believe” has been booked. This PG-rated film is the true-life story of Christian music star Jeremy Camp and his journey of love and loss.
Admission at the Wauneta theatre will be free will, Harchelroad said.
There will be a full offering of concessions including popcorn, candy and soft drinks, she added.
Pudge Hamilton continues as manager, she said, working with the board and volunteers.
Harchelroad said they will appreciate feedback from the public as the theatre reopens.
