Registration open for MPCC summer classes in Imperial

Mid-Plains Community College has released the summer course schedule for community education and “for credit” classes.
All classes will be held at MPCC Imperial campus.
“Introduction to Autism” will run June 3 to July 8 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays only.
“The Introduction to Autism” course is a six-week course designed for families, daycare providers and educators seeking more information about Autism Spectrum Disorder.
This course will cover the etiology of autism and strategies for working with autistic children. Cost for the course is $105 and includes all course materials.
“Introduction to Dyslexia” will be presented from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays beginning July 15 and running to Aug. 5.
The cost for this course will be $90.
The autism and dyslexia courses will be presented by distant learning via Zoom.
 On Saturday, June 12, “Astrophotography: A Night with the Stars” will be held as a “star party” at Enders Reservoir.
From 6 p.m. to midnight, attendees will learn techniques and tips for photographing the night sky. Class fee is $89.
“Welcome to Medicare” will be a free class on Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
“Welcome to Medicare” will provide comprehensive information about Medicare and address these questions:
What does Medicare cost and cover?
When should I enroll in Medicare, and what rules do I need to know?
What is the difference between Medicare with a supplement versus Medicare Advantage?
“Welcome to Medicare” is provided by Nebraska SHIP, a member of the national SHIP network and a division of the Nebraska Department of Insurance.

    Survey of Chemistry I -  
9 to 10:30 a.m., June 7 to July 29 (Monday through Thursday)
    Nursing Assistant -  
9 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 2 to July 19 (Mondays and Wednesdays)         Intermediate Algebra -  
7 to 8:50 a.m., June 7 to July 15, (Monday through Thursday)         Applied Statistics -
7 to 8:50 a.m., June 7 to July 15, (Monday through Thursday)
    Medication Aide -
9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., July 13 to July 29, (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Students can begin registering for fall classes now.
