Raceway schedule moves to Sat. Start

Stock car racing at Phillips County Raceway will open this Saturday and Sunday, April 17-18, at the Phillips County Fairgrounds in Holyoke.
While it was announced last week that it would be a three-day opener, organizer Joe Bellm said Monday morning, April 12, that they have decided to eliminate the Friday, April 16, official racing.
Instead, there will still be test and tune time at the raceway Friday starting at 7 p.m., and admission to the grandstands will be free.
As of early this week, it’s still the plan to open the season Saturday, April 17, at 6 p.m., with races also planned Sunday, April 18, at 3 p.m.
Both days will feature modified, stock cars, sport mods, hobby stock, compacts, dwarfs, mini mods and UTVs. The Saturday schedule will also add High Plains late models.
