Imperial FFA students awarded grants for their SAE businesses

Last April, Imperial FFA students Markenna Terryberry and Morayah Cupp were featured in two stories about their SAE businesses.
Since then, they were awarded a $2,000 and $1,000 grant, respectively, for their businesses.
Terryberry’s business was originally called “Grow in Grace,” but it has had a name change to “Succulents & Co,” she said.
“I grow and sell potted succulents, which I maintain in my greenhouse” she said.
She added that she buys unique and good-quality pots with some top dressing to get a complete professional look.
“I received the grant money last month (March) which I used to build a website, purchase new technology for tracking my business and buy more plants for my greenhouse,” said Terryberry.
She has a public presence on Facebook and Instagram, and her website is succulent sandcompany.com.
Morayah Cupp was awarded a $1,000 grant which she has used to expand her business, “Mo’s Mobile Coops.”
Cupp’s business rents out mobile chicken coops which she delivers to her customers.
She started with two coops and has upsized to eight coops now, she said.
The rental “kits” include a chicken coop on wheels for convenience of cleaning and fertilization, a feeder and water system, bedding and the hens, she said.
“I currently have four kits available to rent out beginning this month (April),” said Cupp.
The final amount of her grant money was used toward a fourth-year expansion where she began raising and selling pullets, she said.
She was excited to reveal that she has qualified for finals in the State FFA Star Farmer application in the agribusiness category, she said.
“I have an interview this week via Zoom with a panel of judges from Lincoln,” Cupp said.
She also plans to apply for an SAE grant for the coming year, she said.
