Big day ahead for youths Saturday with pair of Easter Egg Hunts set

Youngsters may want to get to bed early Friday night, with two Easter Egg Hunts planned on Saturday in Imperial and Enders.
The Imperial Lions Club will return to a hunt in Campbell Park this year, after organizing a drive-thru event in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The Nebraska Game and Parks is also putting together a hunt at Enders Lake the same day. With a 2 p.m. start, youngsters will have plenty of time to get to both, organizers say.
Saturday’s hunt in Campbell Park will start promptly at 1 p.m. for youths toddler age up through the second grade. Youths will hunt in four different age groups and four different areas.
    Hunting locations are as follows:
Toddler to age 2—Sand playground by golf course.
    Ages 3/4—Outfield of baseball field.
    Age 5/6—Area around water tower.
First and 2nd graders—East end of park.
Hundreds of candy-filled eggs will be laid out for the Lions hunt, and some of them will have quarters, 50-cent pieces and dollar coins inside, said Lions President Sheryl Curtis.
The coins have been donated by Adams Bank & Trust, Pinnacle Bank, Waypoint Bank and the Imperial Credit Union.
In case of bad weather, the Lions will hold their hunt a week later on April 3.
The 2 p.m. hunt at Enders Lake will be conducted near the picnic shelter around the shower house and fish-cleaning areas, said Enders Lake superintendent Beau Licking. Their hunt is for youths up through 10 years of age, he said.
Licking reminds parents a one-day or yearly park pass is required to enter the Enders Lake Recreation Area.
Youths should bring their own baskets for both hunts.
