County’s community, senior centers easing some restrictions

Community and senior centers in Imperial and Wauneta are beginning to ease some restrictions following a year of COVID-19.
The Imperial Community Center has made limited public hours available.
“The thrift store is now open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon,” said Laura Barton, director.
Masks are required inside the building, she added.
“We are not serving meals on-site yet, but we are continuing to provide curbside pick-up and home delivery,” Barton said.
To order a meal, call the center by 9:30 a.m. at 308-882-5343.
“We don’t have a date yet that we will be completely open to the public,” she said.
Karon Pantera, senior services director, announced that the senior center in Wauneta opened to the public on Monday this week.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the noon meal available between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on-site, she said.
“Masks are required for individuals who have not had both vaccination shots,” said Pantera.
Social distancing is also practiced at all times while on the premises, she added.
Home meal delivery is available but must be set up ahead of time.
Curbside pick-up is also currently available.
To order a noon meal, call the senior center at 308-394-6333 by 9:30 a.m., she said.
