Two taken to hospital after county road accident

A woman and her child were treated and released from an area hospital after a one-vehicle rollover accident Friday afternoon in northwest Chase County.
Deputy Rob Browning said Sarah Banta, 31, of Brandon and three juveniles were in the 2003 Dodge Caravan she was driving south on the Brandon Road (318 Avenue) when she lost control after hitting washboards in the road.
The van fish-tailed and spun into the west ditch, where it rolled onto its top, Browning said.
All of the occupants were belted in, Browning said.
As a precaution, an 11-year-old child and Banta were examined at Perkins County Health Services in Grant, and later released, he said.
Imperial EMS was also on scene for the 2:50 p.m. call Friday, and Sgt. Justin Mueller from the sheriff’s office assisted. The Imperial Volunteer Fire Department responded, too, but were called back before getting there after Browning assessed the scene.
The van was totalled, Browning said.
