First positive case in Phillips County under investigation

Monday afternoon, March 30, the Northeast Colorado Health Department announced it was investigating the first positive COVID-19 test result in a Phillips County resident. Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke collected the sample and sent it for testing.

“This individual is currently not hospitalized but is in appropriate isolation,” said Trish McClain, director of NCHD.

“It is important that everyone follows the new public health order to stay home. It is up to each of us to protect our community members who are at high risk and not give this virus a chance to spread,” she said.

According to NCHD on Monday, Logan County has six cases, Morgan County five, Yuma County two and Washington County one.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Monday afternoon report said there are 2,627 COVID-19 cases in Colorado, including 51 deaths.
