Kelly Maronde, registered nurse (RN), is the new Director of Nursing (DON) at Chase County Community Hospital and clinics.
She brings with her over 35 years of nursing experience and 22 plus years in management positions at medical facilities.
Maronde has been employed at CCCH in the specialty clinic for the past five months.
She officially took over the position as DON on Nov. 15 after being mentored for six weeks by retiring DON Kathy Geier.
“I appreciated Kathy so much. She was a wealth of knowledge,” said Maronde.
She started down the road to a career in the medical field while still in high school.
“I started working as a teenager as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and eventually a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN),” Maronde said.
After graduating from high school, Maronde attended Bryan School of Nursing in Lincoln, graduating in 1992 with an RN degree, she added.
She will be completing a master’s in nursing from Doane University in Lincoln in spring 2020.
Before relocating to Imperial and CCCH, Maronde was the DON at Friend Community Healthcare System for five years.
While living in Friend, she and two nurse practitioners (NPs) also started a medical clinic for the community, she said.
“I was excited to come to CCCH. I like small communities and especially small critical access hospitals,” Maronde said. “It’s a place where you can receive great hometown care with an extra dose of TLC.”
