Vision of Trees ready for guests this weekend

The Champion Jr. Women’s Club’s Vision of Trees will take place this weekend.
The 15th annual event will run Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The theme this year is “Christmas Magic.”
Meals will be $5 per person. Saturday’s menu includes a baked potato bar, while Sunday will have a soup luncheon.
This year there will be close to 30 decorated trees, organizer Jessie Schmidt said.
Winners will receive cash prizes. There will be an adult division and a child division.
The raffle drawing and silent auction will take place Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
 Raffle items include wooden outdoor furniture by Lloyd Hazard, a handmade quilt by Rhonda Smith, a handmade item by Betty Jo Goodell and a Christmas tree with decorations donated by the Challengers 4-H Club.
Raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each or 12 for $10, and participants need not be present to win.
New this year, the women’s club will be making wreaths to sell. Other features will include live music, letters to Santa Claus and face-painting.
Live music will include Marla Smith and her guitar students, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and Phyllis Mock and her piano students starting at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Santa Claus will make an appearance on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Proceeds go toward helping the Champion community.
