CCS students preparing for one act play ‘The Case of Alex Hansen’

Chase County Schools is preparing for one-act play competition.
The CCS play is a drama called “The Case of Alex Hansen,” written by Alan Haehnel.
In the drama, a young woman (Tegan Towns) awakens to find herself on trial for her life.
The supporting characters, including legal representation (Halle Fiedler) and judge (Nike Smith) are “chaotic to the point of dark comedy.”
The only help Towns receives is from a figment of her imagination (Mackenzie Soltis.)
Due to the content and message of this play, this production has been challenging for both the cast and directors, Jill Bauerle and Mary Fortkamp.
“Our goal is to present the message in a profound and heartrending way, but that doesn’t mean it will be comfortable for the audience,” Bauerle added.
The public is invited to performances including:
Nov. 25—SPVA competition at North Platte High School Auditorium at 9 a.m. MT (Eight 30-minute plays hosted by Sutherland; CCS is first.)
Nov. 26—Public performance at CCS auditorium at 7:30 p.m., free will donations are appreciated.
Dec. 3— Public performance at CCS auditorium at 7:30 p.m., free will donations are appreciated.
Dec. 4—Districts at North Platte High School Auditorium at 1:15 p.m. MT; (competition begins at 9 a.m. MT; seven schools perform; expect an admission fee).
Donations at the CCS performances help pay for the scripts, royalties and set expenses.
