Coleman, Brown come away with election wins
Sixty-two percent of eligible voters turned out to cast a ballot in Tuesday’s General Election in Chase County.
County Clerk Debra Clark said she’s not surprised at the turnout numbers. “It’s a little higher than normal, but I personally think that’s because of those city races,” she said.
Statewide turnout was just below that, with 56 percent.
In Imperial, Dwight Coleman will serve another four-year term as mayor, beating out opponent Preston Smith, 417 to 347.
Imperial city council featured another hot race.
