Longhorns roll over competition at Cambridge

    After a week of miserable conditions, the Chase County boys’ track team caught a break and had a warm, relatively wind-free day at the Don Stine Invite Saturday in Cambridge.

WP’s Walker sets school record in 100

    The Wauneta-Palisade track teams saw a little bit of everything last week, harsh wind and sprinkles Tuesday in Benkelman and a warm, relatively wind-free day Saturday in Cambridge.

Lucy Spady immediately grabbed the lead in the 1,600-meter run and ran away from the competition. Spady brought home the traveling plaque for the win and also a 3,200-meter run victory. Legs in the winning 1,600-meter relay and 3,200-meter relays gave Spady four first-place finishes.

CCS girls claim invite title

    With only one meet on the schedule last week, the Chase County girls’ track team made the most of it, winning the Don Stine Invite team title by 66 points.
