Still some ornaments hanging on Giving Trees

    There are still ornaments and snowflakes hanging on the Giving Trees at Hayden Outdoors and Wolf Auto of Imperial.
    People are asked to have the gifts returned by Dec. 19 to the business at which they selected the ornament(s).
    Annie Longan at Wolf Auto said they have about 20 ornaments left for children and families in need in the area. More than half have gone out already, she said, and a lot of presents have been returned and are under the tree.
    If people would rather call, Longan said she will select an ornament for them. Contact her at 308-882-4295.
    At Hayden Outdoors, Melisa Owens said Tuesday they had about 10 ornaments left to be filled. Those bringing back gifts to Hayden Outdoors are asked not to wrap them.
    A community wrapping party is set for Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. at Wolf Auto. Anyone who would like to help is invited, she said.
    All ornaments at the Giving Tree at Imperial Manor and Parkview/Heights have been spoken for, said CEO Lynne West.
    Fifty-eight residents at the facilities will have gifts for Christmas through this effort, she said.
    Those who have gifts still being purchased are asked to return them wrapped to the Manor by Thursday of this week. If wrapping isn’t possible, West said they will do the wrapping there.
