Shopping opportunity at SWNE Christmas Festival Saturday

    The SWNE Crafters and Entrepreneurs for home-based businesses will be holding their annual Christmas shopping event this Saturday.
    The event will be held at the Wellington Gym located at 1000 Wellington Street from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    Some new vendors will be joining the SWNE Christmas Festival this year bringing the total to 24 vendors selling a wide variety of items for early Christmas shopping.
    Some of the items on display  will be handmade crafts, clothing, jackets, glassware, jewelry, baked goods, home decor, children’s books and much more.
    “Burritos and More” from Grant will be on site selling a lunch of burritos, chips and a drink during the event.
    Every time a purchase is made at the event, the purchaser’s name will be placed in a box for a drawing for a gift basket.
    The drawing will take place at 2 p.m. and the winner need not be present, said Gayla Mayden, event organizer.
    Funds collected from vendors for the rental of the space go back into the community for charitable efforts, said Mayden.
    “We also plan to ‘adopt a family’ to help out at Christmas time,” she added.
