SCORE camp adventure begins

The theme for SCORE camp 2022 is “Adventure Science,” with 325 youths registered on Monday as SCORE camp kicked off for a week of science learning.
On Monday and Tuesday, the first and second graders went to Champion Lake, while the fifth and sixth graders went to Swinging Bridge. There were enough campers to have eight groups, which were divided into colors of white, blue, purple, green, orange, red, yellow and pink.
Stations lasted 40 minutes with each instructor. The kids also had a snack around 10:30 in the morning and again at noon.
There were eight different stations, but different activities each day.
The Monday activities included Sparks Fly, Animal Adventures, I Code! Can You? Fossil Findings, Super Shelter, A Frayed Knot, Grow Baby and Wingin’ It.
Tuesday’s activities were Ride the Waves, On the Track, Weather Watch, Rocks in a Box, Play it Safe, SOS, Edible Aquifers and Blast Off 1.0.
On Wednesday night, from 6-8 p.m., there will be an “Adventure Night” at Champion Lake. Families are invited to meet at the lake and watch the demonstrations.
Camp activities continue Thursday and Friday.
