Report: muddy road contributes to accident

Emergency personnel and a sheriff’s deputy responded to a one-vehicle accident Monday night.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., the Chase County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible one-vehicle accident south of Imperial on 331 Avenue (junk yard road).
Imperial Volunteer Fire Department and EMS were dispatched along with Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Dukes.
The emergency personnel were cancelled before arriving on scene, according to Sheriff Kevin Mueller.
It was determined by Chief Deputy Dukes that Abigail Bubak, 19, was traveling north on 331 Avenue in a 2007 GMC SUV when she lost control because of the heavy rain and muddy conditions.
The vehicle slid into the west ditch and rolled one time. The driver was not injured and the vehicle was considered a total loss, Mueller said.
