Red Cross blood drive at CCS recognizes donor milestones

Last Thursday’s American Red Cross blood drive was very successful, according to Angie Paisley, Chase County Schools’ nurse and CCS blood drive coordinator.
There were 93 volunteers who presented to donate with eight donors deferred and seven units insufficient which left 78 full units obtained and shipped, she said.
“The Red Cross staff kept things running smoothly and efficiently, and the CCS Blood Drive Team were extremely pleased with the number of donors who came out on a cold day,” Paisley said.
Recognition was given to several donors who reached milestone blood donations.
Roxane Miller marked her nine-gallon donation.
Burnetta Ahrens and husband, Robert, always donate together at the Imperial blood drives and have done so for many years, said Paisley.
Burnetta marked 10 gallons of blood donations at last week’s drive.
A certificate of recognition was presented to Linda Lutz, who celebrated her donations that reached 16 gallons.
“Thank you to all donors for showing up,” Paisley said.
The next blood drive is scheduled for March 24 at CCS.
