Rainbow Promise adds staff, new 2-year curriculum

    New staff members are on board and a new curriculum is being set up for fall classes at Rainbow Promise Preschool in Imperial.
    The staff is preparing for an open house and carnival on Monday, Aug. 7, when parents will be able to register their children for 2023-24 classes which will start Sept. 6.
    Preschool Director Tammy Siverson said they are excited about the new Mother Goose curriculum, which will be introduced this fall. She noted it’s aligned with the Nebraska Department of Education’s preschool state standards and will be used in the four-year-old and pre-K classes.
    In addition to teaching ABCs, colors, numbers and more, she said it also provides Bible stories in the instruction.
    The new curriculum has a full two-year cycle, she added, so students in the four-year-old section and the pre-K students will have two full years of instruction that is not repeated.
    Parents attending the open house Aug. 7 will receive information on the new curriculum.
    They are encouraged to bring their children, who will be entertained outdoors with carnival activities while they complete paperwork.
    Two new women have joined the preschool staff. Siverson said five of the staff have college degrees in education or are working toward them, some with endorsements in early childhood. The others all have experience in education working with young children.
    Ashleigh Mulder and Keila Lopez are new to the staff, joining Christy Colson, Lorrie Ringleman, Rhonda Hill, Estafania Franco and Siverson. Hannah Langford, who is employed by Chase County Schools, will serve as support staff for the three-year-olds.
    The staff will be raising funds for their new curriculum this Saturday at the Chase County Challenge event on City Square starting at 4 p.m.
    Rainbow Promise Preschool, located at the Imperial Methodist Church at 420 Holland Street, is a non denominational Christian program with classes for ages 3-5.
