Pedal pull event returns, as competitors go the distance

    Friday afternoon of Chase County Fair week filled the open air pavilion once again as youngsters competed in the pedal tractor pull.
    Last year’s cancellation due to COVID did not dampen this fair event’s popularity.
    The competition involves peddling a tractor for distance as the pulled weight increases.
    Sponsor Pivot Electric provided prizes in all age groups. First place in each youth division earned a $25 Visa gift card. All three top place-winners in each class earned a sno-cone gift certificate to use on the fairgrounds.
    The top three in the youth divisions also punched their ticket to compete at the Nebraska State Fair Sept. 5.
    Due to last year’s cancellation of this event, 13-year-olds were invited to compete. Just one participant took part.
    The two adult winners were awarded $50 Visa gift cards.
    More than 130 youths were registered for this year’s pull brought to the fair by Jerry and Cindy Ash of Arcadia.

Four-year-olds

Five-year-olds
