Mountain scene take Best of Show in fair’s photo contest

    A picturesque mountain scene claimed Best of Show honors in this year’s Chase County Fair Open Photo Contest.
    Gretchen Fowler, a 1995 Chase County High School graduate, took the top honors and won $50 for her Best of Show “Mountain Splendor.”
    Fowler’s winning photo also captured first in the “On the Horizon” category.
    This year’s contest drew 42 entries in four categories. Other categories were Churches, Go Big Red and Love Story.
    First through third in each category will receive cash prizes.
    All photos entered will be on display in the exhibit building Wednesday through Saturday at the fair.
