Maywood man arrested during fair for trespassing and disturbing peace

A Maywood man is facing arraignment in Chase County Court next month following his arrest during the Chase County Fair Aug. 13.
Jared Wilson, 38, will appear in county court Wednesday, Sept. 22, before Judge Edward Steenburg.
County Sheriff Kevin Mueller said his office was contacted about 11:45 p.m. Friday night of fair with a complaint about a male subject harassing an adult female by the livestock barn.
The reporting party/victim also reported that the same man had been allegedly harassing and following some teenage girls in the same area.
Mueller’s report indicated “he was saying some weird and inappropriate” things.” When the girls walked away, he allegedly followed them, Mueller said.
Officers located the subject by officers near camper row and, after an interview away from that area, Mueller said Wilson was told he was not welcome on fairgrounds’ property.
He was arrested for trespassing and disturbing the peace after he refused to leave the grounds, Mueller said.
After his arrest, bond was set at $2,500. He was released early Aug. 14 after posting 10% of the bond.
