Lenten luncheon series kicks off March 16

Ash Wednesday this week was the official beginning of Lent, and ministers in the community are organizing a Lenten luncheon series during this time leading up to Easter.
The first luncheon is set for Wednesday, March 16, and they will continue March 23, March 30 and April 6.
Four ministers in Imperial will take turns speaking at the four luncheons, and the location of each will rotate, as well.
The luncheons/programs will run from 12:15 to 1 p.m. at the host location. Lunch will be served first by the host church, followed by prayer and the minister’s message.
In the past, the Chase County Ministerial Association hosted Lenten breakfasts. This year, the group changed to noontime gatherings, said Imperial First United Methodist Church Pastor Deb Copple.
Here is the full schedule,  location and speaker at each luncheon:
March 16—at Crossroads Wesleyan Church, speaker: Pastor Deb Copple, FUMC.
March 23—at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, speaker: Dave Hogsett, Cowboy Church of Chase County.
March 30—at Imperial Community Center, speaker: Pastor Brian Boisselle, Crossroads Wesleyan Church.
April 6—at First United Methodist Church, speaker: Fr. Lothar Gilde, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
