Kristin Schueler takes on insurance sales profession

    Kristin Schueler of Lamar has a goal in her new profession in the insurance industry—to protect retirement income.
    She now is licensed to sell many types of insurance in Nebraska and seven other states, but the various options people can access to protect their retirement income is at the heart of her work.
    Schueler is an independent agent with Family First Life that has at least 12 carriers, including but not limited to Americo, Mutual of Omaha, Aetna, John Hancock, Foresters, Athene, American Amicable and Transamerica.
    In March, she received her license in life and health, giving her the opportunity to field-underwrite life insurance for mortgage protection and final expenses, and Medicare supplements. She is also licensed to sell Fixed Index Annuities and Indexed Universal Life, she said.
    Besides Nebraska, she is licensed for insurance sales in Colorado, Kansas, Indiana, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina and Michigan.
    She is working out of her home in Lamar, and will travel to meet with potential clients, she said.
