Hospital’s Casino Night gathering draws strong support, good times

The Chase County Hospital Foundation held its 2022 Casino Night Event Saturday at Broken Arrow Cellars.
Out of the 150 tickets sold, 128 people were able to attend, said Shawn Jaeger, Foundation & Marketing Director.
“There were 19 local businesses who gave tremendous support by donating as table sponsors,”  said Jaeger.
In addition, 19 other local businesses and providers donated items and services for the silent auction.
The highest bid made was $2,500 for a kitchen cabinet package from Adams Lumber.
The building was buzzing with conversation and laughter as attendees enjoyed the diverse, authentic Cajun cuisine provided by Cajun Prairie Catering.
Professional dealers from Casino Party USA in Denver looked sharp in their black garb, as they conducted games at eight tables.
Seasoned gamblers as well as gambling novices tried their hands at craps, roulette, Texas Hold’em poker and five tables of blackjack.
The Broken Arrow Cellars cash bar served wine, beer and spirits for the full casino experience.
The event generated almost $26,000 of which the bulk of the money will be applied to the hospital endowment fund, Jaeger said.
“Some of it will also be used for our scholarship program which supports Chase County students going into the medical field,” he added.
Jaeger is hoping Casino Night will continue as an annual event.
“We are so thankful for all the donors and participants that were involved. It made this a wonderful event—I am blown away by the community’s generosity and support for the hospital and clinics’ continued success,” he said.
