These campers at Enders Lake Tuesday, if still there in a few days, will probably see a little more of a crowd as Labor Day weekend arrives.

Enders Lake is ready for final holiday weekend crowd

The three-day Labor Day weekend is the last official summer holiday and personnel at Enders Lake Recreation Area are ready.
“The facilities are ready for visitors, and we are staying on top of regular maintenance of the roads, buildings and trash collecting areas,” said Beau Licking, park superintendent.
“It will be business as normal,” he said.
Enders Lake is a first come, first serve recreation area for camping spots, Licking said.
“I would not be surprised if we have a very busy weekend, especially since Lake McConaughy has gone to a total reservation system—and they are booked up for this weekend,” he said.
Licking encourages visitors to come out and enjoy the lake area, but be safe.
“Be careful of fires due to the dryness, and adhere to park and boating regulations,” he added.
For information and park passes, people can call the park office at 308-394-5118 or send a message on the Enders State Recreation Facebook page, said Licking.
Park passes for the 2021 season are good until Dec. 31.
“After this weekend, normal camping will slowly taper off, but the park area will continue to stay fairly busy with hunters,” he said. Archery season opened Sept. 1.
