Easter egg hunt options abound

When it comes to Easter Egg Hunts, youths in Chase County have a lot of options.
There are hunts scheduled in Imperial, Enders and Wauneta over two weekends in April, beginning April 9.
The Imperial Lions Club is coordinating its annual hunt for Saturday, April 9, starting at 1 p.m. in Campbell Park.
Toddlers up to second grade in age can participate in the hunt, divided into four age groups. Youths will hunt for 2,000 eggs divided over the four age groups.
About 400 of the eggs will be filled with quarters donated by local banks, and the rest will have candy, said Lions hunt chairman Sheryl Curtis.
Youths should have their own collection baskets, and Lions members remind parents the hunt starts promptly at 1 p.m. Parking should be done on West 6th Street.
The Wauneta Care & Therapy Center and Wauneta Chamber are planning an Easter Egg Hunt in the Wauneta city park on April 16 at noon.
Youths age pre-K to fourth grade will have designated hunting areas as they search for the eggs, said coordinator Renee Richardson.
Enders Lake Recreation Area will also have a hunt on Saturday, April 16, starting at 2 p.m.
Park Supt. Beau Licking said youths will gather at the metal shelter near the shower house for the hunt open to youths up to 10 years old. They will hunt in two age groups, he said.
Youths also need to bring their own baskets or bags to Enders. Park entry permits will be required. One-day passes can be purchased that day at the hunt, he said.
