Early morning accident earlier this month injures two

A one-vehicle rollover accident early Saturday, Nov. 6, left the two young men in the vehicle injured, requiring life-flights out.
Chase County Sheriff Kevin Mueller said his office received the 5:40 a.m. call that morning and an officer responded to the scene, southwest of Imperial on 736 Road, just east of 327 Avenue.
The driver Jose Medrano, 22, of Imperial was westbound on 736 Road when he lost control of the 2015 Ford F250 and went into the south ditch, came back on the road and then rolled three times, ejecting the passenger, Edgar Medrano, 20, also of Imperial.
Mueller said alcohol, speed and careless driving were factors in the accident. The pickup was totaled, he added.
Both Medranos were transported to Chase County Community Hospital with serious injuries and then life-flighted to Kearney. Mueller said both the driver and passenger were unresponsive at the scene.
Assisting at the scene were Imperial EMS and the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department.
