Documentary ‘Mind Polluters,’ candidate coming to Wauneta

    A free showing of “The Mind Polluters” is scheduled in Wauneta Sunday, March 6.
    Also scheduled that evening is an address from Elizabeth Tegtmeier, a candidate for the Nebraska State School Board in District 7, which includes Chase County.
    Showing of “The Mind Polluters” is being coordinated in Wauneta by Vanessa Fanning, a WP School parent.
    Hosting the documentary showing in Nebraska communities are The Protect Nebraska Children Coalition and Nebraskans for Founders’ Value groups.
    The documentary was filmed in Nebraska and Indiana, and was produced by Mark and Amber Archer, a husband-wife filmmaking team and founders of Fearless Films.
    According to a press release on “The Mind Polluters,” the documentary was created by grassroots volunteers, legislators and Christian academics to “expose and stop efforts of corrupt organizations and groups that infiltrate the nation’s school systems with  pornographic and pedophilia materials.”
    It includes footage of the Feb. 26, 2021 Nebraska Unicameral Judiciary Committee hearing on LB 282, the “Repeal Nebraska Obscenity Exemption” bill.
    The documentary will be shown first at 6 p.m., followed by Tegtmeier, Fanning said.
    Free will donations will be taken for the documentary showing, she said.
Tetgmeier to speak
    Tetgmeier of North Platte is one of three candidates seeking the Dist. 7 state school board seat, and is challenging incumbent Robin Stevens of Gothenburg.
    Her website lists the following issues of importance: student proficiency, teacher shortage, maintaining local control and protection of children from sexually inappropriate and racially divisive material.
    She said she will provide true western Nebraska representation.
