Concert lineup to usher in end of school year

Spring concerts at Chase County Schools are just around the corner beginning  May 2.
On Monday at 10 a.m., the grade 5-6 bands will present a “Concert on the Green” just outside the school’s east entrance.
“It’s a weird time but we are excited to host a program for the K-4 classes and any family or friends that can come at such an odd time,” said Agnes Strand, Director of Bands.
Monday, May 9, at 6:30 p.m., there will be a concert featuring the grade 6-8 and high school choirs as well as the 7th grade and high school concert band. The concert will also include a performance by Simply Jazz, she said.
On Saturday, May 14, at 4 p.m., grade 8-11 band students will play before and during the high graduation which will begin at 4:30 p.m., Strand said.
On Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m., there will be a concert with the high school choir and 9th St. Singers show choir featuring end-of-year songs, said David Rushing, vocal music instructor.
The choirs will also be performing during graduation the following day, he added.
