Community invited to help create city slogan

Tyler Pribbeno, city community development director, has been working with three college students, Joel Kreifels, Isaac Archuleta and Sebastian Sturner, all interning as part of the Rural Fellows Program.
The three young men will be in Imperial for the summer brainstorming new ideas for  improvements for the community.
“One of those ideas is to come up with a town slogan that best represents us as a community,” Pribbeno said.
Kreifels, a student from Nebraska City, is heading up the project, he said.
“There is a survey on the City of Imperial Facebook page where the public can vote for slogans that have already been submitted on the site or add a slogan of their own,” said Pribbeno. “More ideas are welcome.”
The goal is to get general input for a slogan that represents Imperial—to gather ideas, create a design and build around it, he added.
The slogan will initially be used for banners on light poles along Broadway.
The slogan that has the most votes so far is “Imperial Feels Like Home.”
Deadline to vote or submit an idea for a slogan is this Friday.
For those who don’t have Facebook, they can go to imperial-ne.com and select “City Slogan survey,” he said.
“We have been thrilled with the positive response from the public,” Pribbeno said.
