Bow 3 Livestock takes Ranch Rodeo title at Chase County Fair

Allo Arena on the Chase County Fairgrounds was packed Aug. 10 for the fair’s Ranch Rodeo.
Twenty teams signed up for the ranch rodeo and 12 bronc riders were on hand as well.
Bow 3 Livestock was the final team to compete in round one and posted the round’s best time.
Teams had four minutes to doctor one, head and heel a steer, put the rope around the front and back legs, then mark him; pen one, put a yearling into a pen and close the gate without roping him; and mug one, rope a steer and tie three legs.
Bow 3 Livestock completed the task in 1:24.
After the first six of bronc riders finished, Bow 3 Livestock was the first team to return to the arena for round two.
Teams had three minutes to rope and load two steers into a trailer.
Bow 3 Livestock finished the round in 49 seconds, virtually locking up a first place finish.
Hunt Ranch, with team members from North Platte, Paxton and Oshkosh, placed second.
Third went to Hayes Center’s Going Broke. Team members are Nathan Brott, Wacey Hamilton, Kelly Tidyman and Casey Durner.
In the bronc riding, Will Schaffer placed first with a ride of 74.
Justin Quint of Akron, Colorado finished second with a ride of 71 and Wyoming’s Colton Miller was third after a ride of 70.
Benkelman’s Reese Troutman finished just out of the money with a 67-point ride.
Other riders included Tucker Boos and Zoey Boos from Wauneta, Eli Troutman from Benkelman, Merrit Dennett, Carl Ackerman, Landon Krey, JR Yoder and Klem Yoder.
