Cowboy Poet R.P. Smith
Art event, cowboy poet coming soon to CCAAC
Chase County Area Arts Council’s February Final Friday Event on Feb. 23 from 5-7 p.m. at Broken Arrow Cellars in Imperial will be a triple treat. Along with pinstripe art by Dave Ripley, Imperial’s newest police, and metal art and sculpture by longtime Chase County resident, Robert Grams, patrons can enjoy a presentation by R.P. Smith, of Broken Bow, from 6-7 p.m. Smith is a cowboy poet who entertains throughout the country and on a weekly podcast called “Homegrown.” He considers his brand of poetry and country commentary a by-product of the beef industry, which has been processed by reciting for ruminates, relatives, and ranchers. He will make you smile, laugh and cry.
