Accident east of Imperial injures Wauneta man
An apparent medical issue caused a one-vehicle accident east of Imperial on Saturday which injured a Wauneta man.
County Sheriff Kevin Mueller said Fred Krausnick, 80, was traveling west on Highway 6 near the church camp when a medical issue caused the 1995 Ford pickup he was driving to leave the road.
The pickup went into the south ditch, struck a tree row and proceeded on into a cornfield. Mueller said the vehicle then turned back to the east and traveled about 3/4 of mile before coming to a stop.
Krausnick was transported by Imperial EMS to Chase County Community Hospital with possible injuries, Mueller said.
The Imperial Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The sheriff said the pickup was totaled.
